Visual Displays' dnp Supernova Infinity screen solution not only exceeded expectations but also delivered savings for the Woodlands Event Centre, part of Wyboston Lakes training & events portfolio, near Cambridge.
Our brief
The Woodlands Event Centre is a premier event venue with a capacity for up to 600 delegates including a conference suite with a total of 16 flexible event spaces. A major facilities development included an IT budget of £0.5m, with much of that dedicated to AV technology. The goal was to deepen audience engagement and make their time at the centre as productive as possible.The Woodlands Event Centre had initially planned to upgrade their rear projection system but, following detailed consultation and product evaluation, they opted for a high performance optical front projection screen with 5 optical motorised drop-down screens.

Our Solution
Visual Displays recommended dnp Supernova Infinity front projection screens because of their superior HDTV image quality which required only 7000-lumen projectors, enabling the end client to achieve better image quality than with their original 9000-lumen concept, at lower cost.
The dnp Supernova Infinity features ISF-certified screen material for high contrast and extreme viewing angles. This was particularly important at Woodlands, since the installation had to slot into an existing architectural space, with widely differing viewing angles. The screen’s optical properties coped with this admirably.
Meanwhile, its physical versatility supported our custom mount solution allowing one screen to be serviced by two projectors from different directions, by mounting the screen on a powered rotating mount.
The delivered solution also included five dnp Supernova Flex retractable screens to be used for conferences, product launches and training, delivering the greater impact and better outcomes that The Woodlands Event Centre was seeking for guests.
