Viewers close to the screen can struggle to see as well as those at the back.
It’s not just viewing distance that’s critical, viewing angles are critical too.
The DISCAS standard made a radical change in classic InfoComm/AVIXA room design guidance, previously taught for decades. Given that viewing experience has to be good for every viewer and all displays are now in widescreen format, the rules are now changed:
We now have to ensure that closer viewers are not too close, driven by the angle of the eye to the top of the image:
