LG transparent OLED showcased in election studio
Six full HD 55in OLED displays with a transmission rate of 40% were placed in an election coverage studio in South Korea this month, with LG OLED signage also part of the project.
LG has showcased its transparent OLED technology on a South Korean general election vote count broadcast by the MBC channel. The broadcast was the first time the company’s transparent OLED technology had been unveiled to viewers in the country, although it has previously been used by a Danish broadcaster for election coverage last year.
The studio project called for six transparent 55in OLED displays to be situated by the cast seats in the main studio. Content on show included the current status of the votes. LG’s transparent OLED signage was also installed in a separate outdoor studio to deliver ballot count information that changed every minute.
LG’s 55in transparent OLED displays have full HD resolution and a transmission rate of 40%.
