Daktronics and PPDS (formerly Philips Professional Display Solutions) have become the latest major industry players to confirm they will not be attending ISE 2021, following announcements by Sharp NEC and Tripleplay towards the end of last week.

ISE had announced at the beginning of last week that the 2021 show will go ahead in Barcelona from 1-4 June but gave exhibitors until 5 March to cancel or reduce their booking without any penalty.

So far, only a few companies have stated publicly that they will not be attending the show, although many more are thought to have pulled out. Meanwhile, ISE has separately issued statements of support from biamp, Christie, Lang AG, Panasonic and syscomtec Distribution.

In a LinkedIn post, Daktronics said: “Daktronics has decided not to exhibit at Integrated Systems Europe 2021, scheduled for June in Barcelona. This was a difficult decision based on many factors, including the ongoing uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic, including travel restrictions and lockdowns to vaccine distribution and the overall safety of our employees and customers.”

Announcing its position, PPDS general manager Chris Colpaert, said: “The feedback we have received following our first and very successful PPDS Next virtual event last week has proven without a doubt that, for this year, more localised, hybrid events are a more popular choice for our customers, partners and colleagues. ISE is an important event for us at PPDS and we very much look forward to welcoming all of our community onto our booth each year, so we are incredibly disappointed to confirm that, for 2021, we will not be taking a stand to showcase our Philips professional displays.”
