LED video wall collapses on TV presenter mid-broadcast
ESPN Colombia broadcaster Carlos Orduz suffered bruising and a blow to the nose when he was crushed against his desk during a Champions League discussion.
A large section of an LED video wall has collapsed onto a TV sports presenter mid-broadcast, crushing the man against his desk. ESPN Colombia broadcaster Carlos Orduz was bruised and hurt his nose but did not suffer any fractures and was otherwise unhurt.
Orduz was one of six people visible on screen when the video wall came apart, shoving him forward and almost flattening him against his desk. There was a call for calm in the studio before the channel went to an early commercial break.
Orduz had been discussing the elimination of Juventus from the Champions League before a loud crash interrupted the broadest and the video wall landed on him.
Writing in Spanish on Twitter yesterday, the broadcast journalist said: “To those who wrote to me and contacted me about the accident last night, I must tell you that I am fine, thank God. After a medical check-up and tests, any issue was ruled out – only bruising and a blow to the nose (no fracture).”
This is why you need to use projection!
