There are vital differences between how we see light and how it is (or how we measure it) which have a big impact on the specification, design and installation of displays.

This 50-second video demonstrates this using Professor Adelson of MIT's checkerboard illusion. Technically it's an example from the world of psychophysics - but to the rest of us it's just a total mind****!

However, this is an important contextual element in how I use standards to help colleagues and clients when I design and create displays for them.
