Microsoft's Team Room vision images show projectors hanging in free space 'old style'.
Projectors are delivering Front Row displays right now - but where will they be placed in practice?
I had a fascinating meeting with Ross Bristo at #Epson yesterday, working with a partner to plot something special with a Microsoft Front Row display at ISE.
My view is that Microsoft are showing projectors like this so folk can see and understand without captions that these new Teams Room experiences will be delivered via projection. I don't think many will actually want projectors 'invading' the space in many cases - what do you think?
The gamechanger here is the advent of UST lenses on professional projector bodies. We are covering both hidden/built-in (VDL Digital Canvas) and on-show projection (VDL Digital Canvas Core). See below.
We design and make VDL Digital Canvas displays to combine the built-in principle into freestanding display units - flat screens and curved. Lee Harrison made the point that important deliverable is the projected image - and the projector body can be hidden up in the ceiling.
Hidden or exposed, UST-lensed projectors can be tucked into convenient and unobtrusive positions.
We use parametric 3D CAD and modelling tools from our simulation and immersive display projects to deliver optimal projected solutions for Teams/Zoom and all hybrid teaching and meeting spaces. We supply everything from ALR (ambient light rejecting) screens, through design and specialist consultancy, to complete installed display systems.
As a specialist manufacturer and distributor, we work actively with all parts of the AV/IT ecosystem, but our products are supplied by resellers and integrators globally. Our partners can take individual products and services - or complete packages - as needed.
Tuesday 15 March at 16:00 UK time, I'll be running the fifth in my Teams/Hybrid Room design webinars in the form of a detailed module on the AVIXA DISCAS image size, resolution, viewing distances/angles standard. It has 1 CTS RU and I'm adding a section relating to Teams/Zoom/hybrid spaces. There'll be Q&A at the end.
