Can Microsoft’s new Front Row 21:9 display only be used for premium displays and ‘telepresence’ Teams Rooms scenarios…

Up to a point.

The new super-sized Front Row display - and super-wide at 21:9 aspect ratio - can be used in rectangular spaces with the screen at the narrow end.

The driver for image size is the main content window, which might only be 60% of the total height of the screen. AVIXA’s DISCAS standard still applies - but to the content window.

This is why Microsoft is showing projection being used in next-generation MTRs and the new Enhanced Meeting Room (EMR) design - there’s a step change upwards in displays sizes needed.

But it must be projection done properly - using the correct ALR (ambient light rejecting) screen technology. Forget those old white screens!
