Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTRs) reimagined?
At Ignite recently, Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTRs) reimagined? ‘Signature Teams Rooms’ concept launch adds essential guidance. MTR Design 101 question still stands: what minimum image size is needed?
Teams screen layouts are fragmented into arrays of sub-windows, whether in 16:9 or Front Row at 21:9. The core question is ‘how big is big enough for good user experiences?’
We can - and MUST - apply AVIXA’s DISCAS standard to this process. But the basic truth is that if we want to see remote participants anywhere near lifesize, then the answer is also ‘as big as possible’!
Display size is constrained by room height. Looking at the examples below, in practice in 16:9 this means an image size around 120” and in Front Row 21:9 an image size around 150”.
Visual Displays supplies these displays via leading integrators globally. We support AV consultants in getting the displays right and standards-compliant every time. We support end users with practical advice and demonstrations. I supply specialist consultancy services in support of AV consultants and integrators.
