A once in a lifetime MTR sales opportunity
The new Signature Rooms present a once in a lifetime MTR sales opportunity to integrators, but mostly remain a well kept secret between informed end users and pre-sales system designers. Why?
Speaking to my friends in Microsoft, they’ll wax lyrical about the positives that Signature Rooms and the new Front Row layouts offer the future of hybrid working. But they’ll also quietly define it by a negative: Not Telepresence!
The old Cisco IX5000 were wonderful - and it’s worth remembering what users loved about them when designing new MTRs - but they were expensive and the room design was prescriptive. It meant you could go direct to a great result, but it’s something for the elite, the C-suite players.
Critics have commented on, say, using a soundbar and camera combo in The Hive’s famous rooms, instead of a full fat spatial audio system. But this misses a point that Microsoft is understandably unassertive about.
My personal view of Signature Teams Rooms is that their DNA is about affordability. Not cheap. Affordable.
You don’t need to spend ultra sums to create powerful, immersive and engaging MTRs. Get the room layout right, get the display right. And if - and only if - you’re out of budget, then get a good-enough audio system. The new financial year is almost here. I bet there will be exciting swathes of new MTR certified audio systems at ISE 23.
The bigger picture is that even amongst the larger integrators, the account managers and marketing teams are missing a trick. There is massive and unfulfilled demand for higher level MTRs out there, right here, right now.
The Visual Displays team is currently helping AV integrators and AV consultants offer solutions and services to create exceptional user MTR experiences. We offer tailored briefing sessions - email me for details.
Also, see our Webinars page. I’ve conducted a dozen or so webinars in support of these opportunities - and you can watch them all on demand.
