Focus on MTRs at ISE 2023
Microsoft Enhanced Meeting Rooms have morphed into Signature Meeting Rooms and need massive 21:9 displays to work. What about camera positions? Primary research objective for us all at ISE this month!
Cisco telepresence, being end of life, makes Microsoft Front Row concept an additional reason they are a current concern of tech managers.
There are two key factors here.
First, the use of ALR (ambient light rejecting) projection. Microsoft shows this step change in display size needs can only be done with projection. But this only works in normal lighting using ALR projection. In simple terms, this only works using black projection projection material: projection done properly.
Second, small form factor cameras positioned close to eye height, in front of the screen. Yes, in front of the screen! If it’s small enough it doesn’t matter. In fact early iterations use soundbar combinations, which work, as seen below. However, small form factor cameras is what I’ll be researching at the show.
