The view from THEIR space…

Images of Microsoft Teams Rooms show views of the room, featuring engaged participants. But not seeing the remote participants’ view of the room means half the bigger picture is missing.

The view from THEIR space…

Beyond the needs for teams within an organisation to operate well in multiple locations, what’s overlooked in practice is that your organisation’s self-presentation via your hybrid meeting spaces is often the first and most significant way that clients and colleagues form an impression of you.

If the camera selection and position are wrong; if the acoustics are poor and ambient noise levels are high; if the room configuration and lighting are sub-optimal, then the risks of reputational damage can be massive.

Spending well and large on hybrid meeting and teaching equipment, does not mean there’s no such thing as gravity. Good space design is an unavoidable pre-requirement for good user experiences - at both ends of the call - and not a ‘nice to have’ thing that the room technology allows you to sidestep.

In my consulting practice I work with users and stakeholders to help work their way through these minefields, using AV and environmental standards - and best practices learned over decades of hard-won experience.
