Giant LED wall brings waterfall to airport store
Described as the largest LED video wall in Europe, the installation at an airport in Vienna marries BrightSign media players, Absen LED and 3D Mapping Factory content, with installation by Trison.
Lagardère Travel Retail has opened its new ‘The Fashion Gallery’ concept, an 800 sq m shop in Vienna International Airport Shopping Plaza Terminal 2 Departure in the customs area.
To make the experience of visiting the store exceptional and magical, Lagardère wanted a special design covering an entire wall, requiring technology partner TMM Trison to make a thorough study of the surface because of the complexity of its particular shape. The French and Spanish teams of the group installed the largest LED wall in Europe at the entrance to The Fashion Gallery. TMM Trison studio was also able to help Lagardère Travel Retail and brands in adapting their content to this specific wall.
The video production was created and directed by content partner 3D Mapping Factory. The concept was to trigger an optical illusion by extending the existing boutique seamlessly onto the LED screen wall. Then the magic occurs: images of Vienna’s Donnerbrunnen fountain appear to spill water onto travellers, and the audience embarks on a visual journey across Vienna’s tourism landmarks via the 105 sq m immersive installation.
