How big does a Microsoft Team Room Front Row display need to be?

What are the options - and how big can we go?

How big does a Microsoft Team Room Front Row display need to be?

As part of a series of short articles, Visual Displays' Director Greg Jeffreys discusses all things AV…

The limit is height not width. We can go as wide as we want. The early Front Row installation shown on the Microsoft campus appears to be 32:9.

In the UK standard desk height is approximately 73cm and ceiling height in medium and large rooms is 2.7 metres. Let's say we limit the top of the display to 20cm below the ceiling? This gives us approximately 1.8m theoretical available height for our display. This equates to a 140" display (in 16:9).

This is why we are offering 120" (149cm high) and 140" (174cm) high as our standard VDL Digital Canvas displays range. Also the new 21:9 aspect ratio - plus bespoke to any size, aspect ratio, finish etc. Credenza-style freestanding displays or conventional projection. Available through resellers globally.
