The time for Supernova is now
The Supernova optical projection display offers the best solution for a in massive demand rooms, said AV thought leader.
In the past, those calling into a meeting room may have felt ignored or less engaged with the conversation. The onset of the pandemic, where everyone needed to join remotely, has changed that dramatically, creating new expectations for what meetings should be like forvirtual attendees.
“In this post pandemic world, we see a massive demand for hybrid meeting rooms, where the people who are physically present feel more connected to people who are remote, and the Supernova opticalprojection display is simply the best and only way to create a high quality image in that kind of hybrid meeting environment,” said Greg Jeffreys, director of Visual Displays Limited and an expert on displays, lighting and hybrid meeting design.
“The Supernova technology has existed for while, but the time for it is now,” said Greg Jeffreys.
The Supernova optical projection display has a built-in high contrast filter that makes the display super tolerant to ambient light.
“In some cases the LED screen would be the best solution. This could be for outdoor sport events like in football stadiums or other large venues with high levels of ambient light. The LED screen delivers super-high image brightness, which is good for outdoor-use but creates an uncomfortable viewing experience for indoor-use, especially for longer periods of time. For an indoor environment like a meeting room or a conference room, the Supernova is without a doubt the best solution. The Supernova creates a better image appearance at the same pixel density no matter the image size,” said Greg Jeffreys.
The AV expert points out, that Supernova also is an environmentally friendlier solution than the LED Screen.
“By using projectors and a Supernova screen, you will save a lot of power. The Supernova solution does not use nearly as much power as an LED screen, and if you choose an LED screen, and you will have to take care of the hazardous waste that disposal of end-of-life LED screens can cause.”
In addition, the Supernova canvas can be used again and again as the projectors are upgraded in the coming decades. When you want a new and better projector, you can simply replace the old projector while the Supernova screen remains in place.
Furthermore, the LED screen is a lot more costly that the Supernova solution.
“Simply put, by choosing the Supernova technology, the upfront cost is cheaper, the running cost is cheaper, and the image quality is better,” said Greg Jeffreys.
Due to this variety of considerations, the Supernova technology has become the go to technology in the revolution of the meeting room.
In recent years Microsoft has made a major move into the world of hybrid meeting space. By creating Front Row, a new content layout for Microsoft Teams rooms, participants are now offered a greater sense of connection with remote attendees.
“Microsoft has shown thought leadership in this area and in theirdesign of the hybrid meeting space, and they also use the Supernova projection technology,” said Greg Jeffreys.
“Earlier on it would perhaps have been sufficient to use regular projection technology in the meeting room. When viewing an Excel worksheet on projection, for example, you may accept a washed out image. But in a meeting with people, you need great image quality, and the Supernova is the only technology that offers a sustainable and high quality solution.”
