The future of projection…
Some ISE conversations arising from the launch of VDL’s Microsoft Teams Room 150” Front Row display centre on the future of projection - why is it so bright now?
Although we’re there on the Epson booth to launch this new display with them, the use of projection itself is a big talking point. The uncomfortable truth is that many AV professionals have had disappointing experiences with washed out images on standard white screens (or walls!) which leaves them unprepared for seeing this black dnp ALR projection screen.
The MTR-focused message is that this means the Signature Teams Room and Front Row displays seen in the tightly-controlled conditions of The Hive can now be used to deliver exceptional and standards-exceeding user experiences in the brightest of rooms.
But these principles apply to education and signage, for example, too.
The bigger picture is that the market for this step change upwards in required display sizes has created a pincer movement whereby, although projection is the current Microsoft specification choice, the signage technologies (LFD, dvLED etc) are staking their own claim that these super-bright advertising products are suitable for the quieter worlds of meetings and education.
But of course it’s all about the bottom line, and as the current best choice for large hybrid and teaching displays is both cheaper to buy and run than dvLED - for the time being anyway - then this tends to seal the deal!
Please come and see us on Epson booth 3J100 - we’re right on the main walkway.
