Specifying MTR displays
How do we specify Front Row displays for Microsoft Signature Meeting Rooms - to work under normal bright lighting?
Latest Microsoft Teams Rooms designs shown at The Hive speak to the future of display requirements: a need for multiple content windows, shown on the same screen - at the same time.
This means a step change upwards in image size.
This is why Microsoft uses projection now - or at least until dvLED’s digital signage technology achieves lower cost, power use, heat output and brightness.
The good news is that projection can achieve AVIXA standards-exceeding image quality. The bad news is that it now has to be done properly, abandoning old approaches and assumptions.
You have to choose the screen material first - namely the type of ALR (ambient light rejecting) technology - and then specify the projector using standards-based scientific calculators. (They are all here for free on our website, but our team will also run them for you, for free. We’re passionate about standards!)
The short video below shows the ALR material best suited to the UST (ultra short throw) projection used in Front Row displays - and all modern meeting and teaching spaces.
Viewers look at the screen, not the projector. The screen is the mission-critical specification issue.
