The era of the Digital Canvas has truly arrived!
The very latest display technology breakthroughs for Microsoft Teams Room Front Row displays - 150” and 113” (both 21:9) were on show at ISE 2024 last week.
I’m proud to have consulted on and contributed to these state-of-the-art displays with my friends and colleagues at Epson and the Visual Displays team.
Did you know that the main Teams content window on a 98” flat panel can be less than 60”? This is one of the key reasons that Microsoft specifies ALR laser projection, as seen in the latest pioneering spaces they’ve built at The Hive.
Using AVIXA standards to curate display bundles that conform to size, quality (contrast) - plus energy efficiency, went into these designs - and made for the most fantastic first day at ISE.
Using the essential principles in the Task Luminance Ratio standards and benchmarks, the use of VDL TrueALR Supernova optical screen technologies (with separate technologies for absorbing ambient light and reflecting projected light) means a perfectly matt and black display surface - until projected light hits it.
This is the best and most suitable display technology for meeting and teaching as you can look at and engage with them all day intensively without the slightest risk of asthenopia ('eye strain'). Your remote participants look lifelike and natural.
