NBA All-Star Weekend to play on LED court

For the first time in the NBA’s history, the All-Star celebrity game and other events will be played on a court with an LED floor.

The screen under the players is installed at the Lucas Oil Stadium and features fully customisable content with graphics, lines, animations and effects that come to life as the game goes on above.

The NBA had conceptualised the idea of LED courts for more than eight years, but steered away from the concept due to the belief that the technology had not yet reached fruition.

The LED court will be used for the 16th February and 17th February All-Star events at Lucas Oil stadium. The modular court was created using panels produced by ASB GlassFloor, custom made for the NBA. This unique set up was brought to the US and tested in a warehouse several weeks before the stadium installation.
